AATA Online (2002-2020)

AATA Online is a free research database containing abstracts of literature related to the preservation and conservation of material cultural heritage. It has been managed and published by the Getty since 1983. Formerly known as the Art and Archaeology Technical Abstracts, the database was launched as an online resource in 2002 and became known as AATA Online: Abstracts of International Conservation Literature. Since then, AATA Online has undergone several upgrades and improvements, including one to incorporate selected subject specific bibliographies produced as part of the GCI’s own conservation and scientific research projects or as part of specific collaborative projects in which the Institute is involved. This interface was superseded in 2020, when AATA Online launched a new interface with greater search and refinement capabilities and more bibliographic export and sharing options.
