SEOUL, South Korea (Yonhap) - An integrated volleyball tournament for people with and without disabilities has concluded with great success.

"Pohang Myeongdo School won the 2023 Special Olympics Korea Volleyball Committee Unified Volleyball Tournament held at Cheonan Market Aein Gymnasium," Special Olympics Korea said on Tuesday.

The tournament was held for three days from Aug. 28 to 30, with a total of four teams participating.

Since 2013, Special Olympics Korea has been conducting integrated sports programs for people with and without disabilities and has created specialized committees for each sport, including soccer and volleyball.

The tournament was organized by the Special Olympics Korea Volleyball Committee and supported by former Korean Air coach Han Jang-seok, a volleyball player himself, and referee Yoo Ae-ja.

From Sept. 15-17, Special Olympics Korea will also host an international unified sports competition featuring 36 domestic unified sports teams and three national clubs in soccer, volleyball, basketball, floorball, and badminton.
